Very famous among tourists is a walk through the Vlaeykensgang, a very small but astonishingly beautiful alley close to the city hall, only 1km away from the Hyllit Hotel. This small historical alley throws you right back to the late middle ages, when many streets weren't wider than a doorway.
Museum of Modern Art (MUHKA)
At about 2km from this hotel in Antwerpen you can gaze at the very extensive collection of modern art in the MUKHA, the Antwerp Museum of Contemporary Art, hosting many exhibitions whole year round, from unknown to internationally recognized artists. The museum is located in one of the most dynamic areas in Antwerp, the Zuid ("South").
The Meir
Today the Meir, one of the biggest shopping streets in Belgium and located only 700m from the Hyllit Hotel Antwerpen, is not much different from the prestigious street it was during the 16th century. Not many people live here but the street has kept its commercial function as it is still the most important shopping street, often used for events and parades.
